Strike 1

2 days ago I got a new PC. It'd been a while since I actually used a PC for more than 10min at a time...I mainly use my macbook these days.

So I got the new PC with Vista of course because that's the only thing that is available now. Just like any other PC, the operating system takes you through an initial set up of the computer. It made me set up an account and what not, but 5 min later when it restarted to the Log In screen, it said my password was incorrect. WHAT?!?! After many tries with the caps lock on, without the caps lock, with capital letters and all small letters, nothing worked.

Strike 1 for damn PC's! How could it be that a new, new, new computer could lock me out right after having setting it up? Whatever. My next move was to look up the info on the net. I came across some people who had similar problems. My options were: make a reset password disc. This sounded simple enough, but the only way to make this thing was through Windows. Since I never even made it into Windows, this was out of the question. Another option was using a bootable password recovery disc. I found a supposedly good one called Ophcrack. It was simple enough to use and it found the account, but not the password.
So that didn't work. On to the next program! The 2nd one I tried was Offine NT Password & Registry Editor. Since I couldn't GET my supposedly forgotten password, I hoped this program would ERASE it! And it did! It erased it and I was back in business. Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!!

Still, this isn't the best introduction to Vista. I was very annoyed and angry with thoughts of taking a bat to the PC. That was a feeling I hadn't had in a while.

Strike 1!!!!!
